Hi,
we have recently launched a new free online map-based carpooling service for Australia.
Your opinion and comments are very welcome as well as enquiries regarding possible implementation of this service for other countries (or organisations/corporates).
The address is http://www.carpoolone.com.au/
Thanks
Ginni
P.S. a bit off topic, but perhaps still handy might be http://www.motorcyclefuelconsumption.com/ guide for motorcycle fuel consumption figures that are usually missing in the factory specs.

i agree with u bhavin....

but what you are speaking about is the "experience " part...and i intend to keep it, infact try to better it....

what im trying to get rid off is the (material infactuated) emotional bonding that a car owner has with his/her car. the moment the owner associates the car with the self, all possible problems begin. like the person might want to potray his status or show how cool he /she is by driving around in a vehicle thats got big wheels and a long hood. this vehicle, due to its sheer size would end up being a fuel guzzler. so the car for "car share" will be customisable and felxible to a small extent in the exteriors...but i'll have to make sure that i dont give in to designing for the wants and desire of the people

thanks bhavin...do keep reading :)

ummm, I don't agree with what you said fully. No designer can and should take the emotional bonding or the memories his personal experience with an object, out from the object. Its quite harmful to the business.
As a designer, you must always try to indulge the user/buyer emotionally in your product. When you deal with customizable interiors, let it go beyond functionality and intelligence in to the emotional experience of that person. Even exterior is possible this way. You may have quite vivid soft customizable elements on exterior too. can't you? There is lot of technology even now... you can certainly explore.. Gtalk is such a small and common application... but it allows you to let others know how you r at a particular time through its custom status line and picture!
cheers,
bhavin
